Functional Testing

Helping to discover the root cause of your symptoms

We offer an extensive range of functional testing. Please see below for a small selection of what we offer. Not all patients will require functional testing. This will be discussed in your consultation and only recommended if it is believed to be beneficial to your treatment plan.

Please note that prices do not include interpretation / consultation fees.

Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis (full report) $79.90

Conventional Blood Test results are based on the average population, which means that the standard range gets wider as the general population gets sicker. Many people are told their results are “normal” even though their results are not ideal or healthy.

Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis compares blood test results against an ideal, healthy population. This alerts people to imbalances that are occurring in their bodies much sooner and aids in disease prevention.

Often people with ‘normal’ blood test results complain of conditions including.

  • Pain and inflammation

  • Low energy and fatigue

  • Brain fog / Sleep disturbances

  • Impaired immunity / Allergies

  • Anxiety and/or depression

  • Inability to lose weight

This comprehensive report also highlights imbalances, and nutrient deficiencies, that conventional analysis may have missed.

* This Report does not include blood draw / test

There are two options:

1) Request / provide existing blood test results that your GP or other medical professional has ordered for you; additional testing may be required at your cost. or/

2) We organise the blood testing for you privately (there is an additional cost for this)

Stool Test  $449.90 -$849.90

The stool Test was designed to assess a patient’s microbiome from a single stool sample, with particular attention to microbes that cause disease or that disrupt normal microbial balance and contribute to perturbations in the GI flora and contribute to illness.

The panel is a comprehensive collection of microbial targets as well as immune and digestive markers. It screens for pathogenic bacteria, commensal bacteria, opportunistic pathogens, fungi, viruses, and parasites.

Common Conditions:

IBS/IBD, Abdominal cramps or pain, SIBO, Allergies, Weakness, Diarrohea, Bloating, Fatigue

Analytes: Parasites, Worms, Bacteria, Fungal/Yeast, Beneficial gut flora,

Firmicutes:Bacteroidetes Ratio

Faecal Markers options include: Faecal Occult blood, Zonulin, Pancreatic Elastase, Calprotectin, B-Glucoronidase, Short Chain Fatty Acids

We offer a range of different reports based on patient's needs / budgets

Sample Report is a comprehesive CMM report

Organic Acids Test (OAT) $429.90

This is the most recomended test in our practice. The Organic Acids Test (OAT) offers a comprehensive metabolic snapshot of a patient’s overall health with 76 markers.  It provides an accurate evaluation of intestinal yeast and bacteria. Abnormally high levels of these microorganisms can cause or worsen behaviour disorders, hyperactivity, movement disorders, fatigue and immune function. Many people with chronic illnesses and neurological disorders often excrete several abnormal organic acids in their urine. The cause of these high levels could include oral antibiotic use, high sugar diets, immune deficiencies, acquired infections, as well as genetic factors.

The Organic Acids Test also includes markers for vitamin and mineral levels, oxidative stress, neurotransmitter levels, and include markers for oxalates, which are highly correlated with many chronic illnesses.

The OAT is strongly recommended as the initial screening test.

MycoTOX Profile (Mold Exposure) $579.90

This test gives you a comprehensive assessment of exposure to common environmental toxins and the damage that this exposure can cause.

Mycotoxins are well documented for their toxic effects on the human cell, causing a number of problems in normal cell function and association with a wide variety of clinical symptoms and diseases, as shown below:

  • Kidney Toxicity

  • Immune Suppression

  • Neurotoxicity / Brain Fog

  • Sinusitis / Migraine / Allergies

  • Depression

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

MycoTOX screens for eleven different mycotoxins, from 40 species of mold, in one urine sample.

* MycoTOX pairs perfectly with the Organic Acids Test (OAT), GPL-TOX (Toxic Non-Metal Chemical Profile), and the Glyphosate Test at a reduced price

GPL-TOX Profile (Toxic Non-Metal Chemicals) $449.90

GPL-TOX screens for 173 different environmental pollutants using 18 different metabolites, all from a single urine sample. GPL-TOX also includes Tiglylglycine, a marker for mitochondrial damage often seen in chronic toxic chemical exposure

GPL-TOX pairs perfectly with our Organic Acids Test (OAT) and our Glyphosate Test in the ENVIROtox Panel. This panel offers you comprehensive testing to assess exposure to common environmental toxins and the damage that this exposure can cause, all at a great value and all from one urine sample.

GLYPHOSATE Urine Test $229.90

Glyphosate is the world’s most widely produced herbicide and is the primary toxic chemical in Roundup™. The usage of glyphosate has since amplified after the introduction of genetically modified (GMO) glyphosate-resistant crops that can grow well in the presence of this chemical in soil. Based on several publications on potential chronic side effects on human health, the World Health Organization reclassified the herbicide glyphosate as probably carcinogenic to humans in 2015. Studies highlight that ongoing use of glyphosate was significantly correlated with the increased occurrence of various neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s, senile dementia, Parkinson’s, ADHD and autism in the USA (Swanson et al., 2014). Rueda-Ruzafa et al. (2019) There also major changes in our gut mircobiome, resulting in dysbiosis. This test brings awareness of the total Glyphosate load; with diet / lifestyle changes these levels can be reduced.

Heavy Metals and Nutrients - Hair tissue Analysis $179

This test assesses levels of nutrients, heavy metals and other elements. This test is used to determine mineral deficiencies and excess. Nutrient elements, including magnesium, chromium, zinc, copper and selenium, are obligatory co-factors for hundreds of important enzymes and also are essential for the normal functions of vitamins. The levels of these elements in hair are correlated with levels in organs and other tissues.
