What is Functional Health?

Functional Medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that aims to identify and address the underlying root causes of disease rather than simply treating the symptoms. It is a personalised, patient-centred approach that considers the whole person, including their lifestyle, environment, and genetic factors, in order to develop an individualised treatment plan.

Functional Medicine practitioners use a range of diagnostic tools, such as blood tests, genetic testing, and comprehensive health assessments, to identify imbalances and dysfunctions within the body. They then work with patients to develop a personalised treatment plan that may include lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, nutritional supplements, and other natural therapies.

The goal of Functional Medicine is to restore optimal health and wellness by addressing the underlying causes of illness rather than just treating the symptoms. This approach recognises that each person is unique and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to health and wellness. Instead, it focuses on individualised care and a whole-person approach to healing.
